Emergency Preparedness
Our goal is to provide you with knowledge and information on emergency procedures in order for you to have a better understanding of what you need to do to respond to emergency situations to keep you safe. The course consists of 6 modules and real-life scenarios that will put your knowledge of emergency procedures to the test: Building Emergency and Evacuation Teams (BEET) & Important Roles Evacuations Shelter-In-Place Lockdown/Armed Intruder Persons Requiring Assistance (PRA) Life safety equipment This course is self-paced and offered online. *Training targeted to Employees.

Fisheries Act Analyst Course
This training is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of authority and responsibilities under the Act. Participants will explore the specific provisions that govern powers and limitations under this legislation for analysts, learn about enforcement activities within the Enforcement Branch, and understand how the role of an analyst aligns with broader enforcement objectives.

Fundamentals of Risk and Impact Communication
This course provides an overview of the communication of risk and impact information. It outlines the key concepts of risk communication as well as how they may be applied within the MSC context, including any regionally produced products. The course also offers the opportunity to develop basic knowledge and skills regarding the impact-based forecast and warning approach and the communication of uncertainty. It also provides best practices and highlights the contribution of the social science discipline to improving risk and impact communication. Training targeted to the MT classification.

Introduction to the Fisheries Act
The Fisheries Act is Canada’s most important statute to prevent water pollution and to protect and preserve Canada’s fisheries resource. This self-paced course will examine key aspects of the Fisheries Act; specifically, provisions that fall under the responsibility of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), as well as the related enforcement process. *Training targeted to Employees.

Mandatory Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training for Committees Members and Representatives
As per the Canada Labour Code Part II and ECCC’s learning policy, this course is mandatory for all levels of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committee members (workplace, regional and national) and representatives, in addition, it is strongly recommended for committee secretaries. This training must be completed without delay, no longer than 90 days following appointment for new members or representatives and, refresher training is mandatory for committee members and representatives every two (2) years. This course is designed to make members/representatives aware of their responsibilities under the Code and provide the skills necessary to ensure that they may effectively carry out these responsibilities. Throughout this course, the learner will understand as a committee member or representative: the legislative and policy context; aware of their roles and responsibilities as well as operations; a review of the rights and duties of employees, employers and committee members or representatives; understand the internal complaint resolution process, psychological health and safety in the workplace; and hazard prevention.

Occupational Health and Safety Employee Training
This course is mandatory for all employees at ECCC (including students and casuals) who are not supervisors, managers or executives. It provides information on occupational health and safety rights, roles, and responsibilities under the Canada Labour Code, Part II. *Training targeted to Employees.
