Description
This is the online portion of Reptile Identification and Procedures training. It covers information about classifying and identifying reptiles, basic handling information, and first aid and emergency procedures. When taken in combination with the in-person Reptiles Handling course, it fulfils the Reptile and Identification Handling training requirement of SWP166 and SWP126.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Identify different reptiles, particularly those listed on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
- Recognize the health and safety risks associated with an inspection involving reptiles and identify protective measures required to mitigate these risks.
- Reference the emergency protocols and first aid necessary when dealing with reptiles, including dangerous and/or venomous reptiles.
- Use and review the resources available that support the planning of a safe inspection.
- Understand the basic information about reptile handing tools and personal protective equipment to prepare officers for an in-person reptile handling course.
