Description
The intent of the course is to provide Enforcement Officers with the resources and information to plan and conduct inspections safely; In particular, when inspections include hunting trophies, live birds and animals which fall under the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (WAPPRIITA), Migratory Bird Convention Act (MBCA), Canada Wildlife Act (CWA) and Species at Risk Act (SARA). When taken in combination with the regional in-person course (of the same name), it fulfills training requirements 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 12 of SWP 126

Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Navigate and apply the available policies and procedures in order to plan safe wildlife inspections
- Understand common biological and chemical hazards when inspecting hunting trophies, live birds and animal inspections.
- Recognize the types of personal protective equipment for wildlife inspections, its use, fit and care, and choose the appropriate protective measures to mitigate risk.
- Identify the legislative requirements and health risks associated with cargo shipments of hunting trophies, live birds and animals, and how to plan for them.
