This session is presented by the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Directorate (LRAD) Legislative Governance Division.

The objective of the session is to provide a general overview of the development of environmental legislative policy at ECCC.

More specifically, you will be introduced to:

• The steps in developing a statute
• Instrument choice as it pertains to legislative policy and statute development
• The steps required to obtain Ministerial and Cabinet approval
• The parliamentary process
